I’ll be taking a break from blogging to do a little traveling next week. I’m doing the Italian Espresso tour with Contiki, then spending a few days in Amsterdam. I’ve seen many parts of Europe but never been to Italy. I hope it involves a lot of pizza, pasta, and wine! Also, I think the recent reading/watching of The Fault in Our Stars left me longing to see Amsterdam. For some reason this trip seems very tame compared to my last couple. I’ll catch you up on all the adventures when I get back. Ciao!
These were so good, and most of the ingredients I had on hand, I only had to buy the mini chips. The only problem was my blender, I think it wasn’t the right type for this. I have a Hamilton Personal Blender, which is more for smoothies and such. I could tell it was getting tired due to the thickness of the batter. Also, the bananas didn’t blend too well (you can see a chunk in the picture). I guess one could just stir the batter if they wanted to.
Though I’m not gluten free or anything, I think these would be perfect for someone on that kind of diet. The chocolate chips and peanut butter are sweet enough to satisfy and they last all week! I’d definitely make these again.
This past week I finally got around to categorizing my Pinterest food board. It was getting too crowded with all the different recipes. I divided my pins into “Food,” “Baking/Sweets,” and “Beverages.” I just did a search on my baking board for “Nutella” and 20 recipes came up. Is this getting out of hand? I’m not complaining.
I love recipes that are easy and are simple to the point where I already have the ingredients on hand. Take these Four Ingredient Nutella Brownies from A Cup of Jo (one of my favorite blogs). So simple, I made them on a Saturday morning. Plus, I love that it only made a few of them, I hate having dozens upon dozens of baked goods on hand without anyone to eat them!
I guess the only thing I would change would be the walnut topping. I was thinking about this after, I could change out the nuts for chocolate chips. You can see from the photos I didn’t include nuts. I just don’t like crunchy stuff in my baked goods. I think this would be a good quick treat to whip up for kids as well! I’ll definitely keep this recipe on hand.
Every now and then you come across a recipe that is a winner. That was the case with Cocoa Pebbles Krispies. Every time someone bit into one I heard them gasp. They were THAT good. And they seriously took like no time to make. I’d definitely make these again!
By the way, when I made these, I was in a hurry to get to an Oscar party and didn’t have time to take photos. I seriously don’t understand how bloggers have the time to take all these professional photos and put their food in all these perfect angles. Most of the time I’m just trying to get through the recipe and almost always forget to take photos. Plus, there’s tons of shadows in my kitchen that get into the photos. I’m displaying my one photo I took below. The above photo is via Cravings of a Lunatic.
The best part about these was the topping. The nutella chocolate was so amazing. I love cooking with cereal and want to try out these Trix Krispies next!
